What is a facial?

A facial is a professional skincare treatment designed to cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate, and
nourish the skin. It often includes steam, extractions, masks, massage, and targeted skincare products.

How often should I get a facial?

Generally, once a month is ideal, as skin regenerates every 28 days. However, frequency can vary depending on your skin type and goals. Your esthetician will suggest a treatment plan for you, as some acne and rosacea clients can benefit from bi-weekly appointments in the beginning of their skin care journeys.

An intro facial is required before being considered a candidate for any medi spa treatments, including Dermaplaning, SkinPen Microneedling, Electrodessication, and some microcurrent treatments.

How do I prepare for a facial?

  • Avoid exfoliating 48 hours before
  • Don’t use retinol or active ingredients 3-5 days prior
  • Arrive with a clean face if possible
  • Share any skin concerns or allergies with your esthetician

Waxing Services FAQs

What is a Brazilian wax?

A Brazilian wax removes all or most pubic hair from the front, back, and everything in between. You can choose to leave a strip, triangle, or go completely bare based on your preference.

How is a Brazilian wax different from a bikini wax?

A bikini wax removes hair along the bikini line (outside of a swimsuit area), while a Brazilian wax removes more hair—including labia and backside if desired.

Does Brazilian waxing hurt?

There is some discomfort, especially for first-timers, but it becomes more manageable over time as hair grows back finer. We use techniques to minimize pain and make the experience as comfortable as possible.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

  • Hair should be at least 1/4 inch long (about the size of a grain of rice)
  • Exfoliate gently the day before
  • Avoid tanning, alcohol, or caffeine before your wax
  • Take a mild pain reliever 30 minutes prior if concerned about pain

How long does a Brazilian wax take?

Typically, 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your hair type and whether it's your first time. I book out extra time for first-timers to go over hair growth cycles, after-care instructions, answer questions, and send you home with customized samples. My regulars are usually in and out in less than 15 minutes.

How long will the results last?

Results usually last 3 to 4 weeks. With regular waxing, hair grows back finer, softer, and more slowly. It takes 3-6 months of waxing for your hair growth cycles to match up. Hormones, genetics, and supplements can contribute to hair growth cycles.

Can I get waxed while on my period?

Yes, some even say it’s less sensitive. Please wear an ob tampon or menstrual cup. If you're uncomfortable, feel free to reschedule.

Is it safe to get a Brazilian wax during pregnancy?

Yes, it’s safe. We’re experienced in waxing during pregnancy and take extra care to make sure you’re comfortable.

What should I avoid after a wax?

For 24-48 hours, avoid:

  • Hot baths, saunas, or tanning
  • Tight clothing
  • Intimacy or intense exercise
  • Harsh scrubs or scented lotions

What if I’m prone to ingrown hairs?

Exfoliate regularly (2-3 times a week) and moisturize daily. We also offer post-wax care products to help prevent ingrown hairs. We will go over your specific triggers/needs in your appointment.

Can I shave between waxing sessions?

It's best not to. Shaving disrupts the hair growth cycle and makes your next wax more painful. Let the hair grow for the best results. “Once you wax you don’t go back.” Your esthetician will go over trimming techniques to extend time between waxing if needed.

Is waxing sanitary?

Absolutely. We never double-dip our wax sticks and use hospital-grade disinfectants between clients. Your safety is our top priority. (Our cleaning standards and protocols are higher than what is required by most state boards.)

What type of wax do you use?

We use high-quality hard wax or soft wax depending on your skin type and hair texture. Both are gentle and effective for sensitive areas.
